Paul Mooreの日記に共感

TOMOYOの開発で大変お世話になっていて、個人的にもなんとなくお友達モードになっているHPのPaul Moore氏のブログにNetLabel Presentation and Tutorial at LinuxConという記事があった。

In a few weeks I'll be giving a presentation and tutorial on NetLabel at LinuxCon.
Both as a speaker and as a member of the audience I've always felt that the best presentations/tutorials are the ones that cover what the audience is really interested in hearing. The only problem is that in most cases the presentation material
needs to be generated before the presenter ever meets the audience.
With that in mind, I'd like to reach out to all of you reading this entry and
ask two simple questions:

 * What would you like to see in a NetLabel presentation?
 * What would you like to learn in a NetLabel tutorial? 

Don't be shy now ;)

ここで、"I've always felt that the best presentation/tutorials are the ones that cover what the audience is really interested in hearing."（私はいつも最上のプレゼンテーションやチュートリアルとは、参加者が本当に興味を持って聞きたいと思っているものだ）という部分に共感を覚えた。

こうした事を書いているのは、彼が"the best presentation"のことを考え、それに近づこうとしているからだ。分野や役割は違っているけれどもいつも自分も同じことを考え、気にしている。と書くと、「なんだ、そんなの当たり前だろ」と思う人もいるかもしれないが、実際にはそんなことはないと思う。40分なり50分、何かを話せば講演は終わる。だから講演をすること自体は難しいことではない。でも「良い講演」をしようと思うとそれはとてつもなく難しい。そして「良い講演とは何か」を考えることから始まる。
